Have These Self-Lubricating Bushings Been Tested?

Yes!  They have been installed in our two clubs since March 2003, and have made the equipment feel like new and performed flawlessly without any bushing greasing. We also installed in a machine simulator operating 24 hours a day to simulate the movement of exercise machines, and under an overload for 90 days, these bronze bushings show minimal wear.

Does Curves™ Know About this Bushing Kit?

Yes! I have discussed the selling of this bushing kit with the General Manager of Ecological Services, the machine manufacturer, and the Chief of Staff at Curves™ International Legal. Both told me they do not have a problem with the selling of these bronze self-lubricating bushings. However, they said that neither Ecological Services nor Curves™ will honor warranty claims on bushings or machine parts not provided by Curves™ Warehouse. This is quite normal, as they are not the manufacturers of the kit, which is similar to when you add an item to your car not made by the manufacturer. The Ecological Services Warranty Manager has told me the original plastic bushings are warrantied for 90 days from club opening. Our bushings carry a full 1-year warranty.

Is it Difficult to Install This Bushing Kit?

No!  The bushing kit comes with detailed instructions including many pictures and helpful hints to solve almost any problem you may experience during installation. A special fitting tool is included to accurately size the bushings to your machine axles. Should you need clarifications or detailed guidance, no-cost telephone assistance is available. The one-time installation takes about 4-5 hours. If you can grease your machines, you can install these bushings.

Do the Machines “Feel” Tighter When These Bushings Are Installed?

Yes! When the machine bushings wear, the levers tend to move from side to side or perpendicular to their normal movement. The side to side movement makes the levers “feel” loose, or sloppy. When installed each Self-Lubricating Bronze Bushing is closely fitted to the machine axle, which almost eliminates side to side lever movement.
