Message #6343 - We've
done one club with them now (about 5 months ago) and are about to
start working on the 2nd club. It takes a little while to figure
out how to install them, but once you get going on them it gets
much faster. The booklet with instructions you get is outstanding!
Also, Alan was right there for us when we had a question. We called
and he wasn't home, but within 5 min his wife contacted him and he
called us back.
I think the difference in the machines is night and day!! The
members noticed it right away. The club we installed them in has
about 200 daily traffic on average, and after 5 months they are
still like the day they were installed. By now in that club, I
would have had to replace the plastic at LEAST once, and would be
coming up on the 2nd time. (we were doing them about every 8 weeks
to 3 months)
I'm about to buy the kit from Curves that makes it so you don't
need to grease the pin where the pistons attach. That will make the
machines virtually maintenance free!
Anything that makes my machines better AND saves me time which
could be much better spent is well worth it in my book! We love
them! Nancy L. Pawlik Berlin/Plymouth WI
Message #6336 - Hi...we have just put bronze bushings on
two of our clubs, on all the machines. It makes a huge difference
in terms of 'wobbly' feeling you get from the machines. Nice and
smooth. My dad is thrilled because he said it will really cut the
servicing time down. Also, there isn't any greasy mess. It did take
a LONG time to put the bushings on tho. Take Care, Katy from
Langley
Message #6329 - We've only done two of our machines so
far, and that was only last weekend. I've no idea how much time it
will save going forward, but I can confirm that the equipment feels
even better -- more smoothe – than even when they were new. I can't
wait for my husband to find time to do the rest of them! Joanne

Message 5346 - Sounds like a heck of a day. We installed
the new and improved bronze bushings several months ago without any
significant problems & they are great. What a difference they
made! Lori Zimmerman
Message 2216 - The kits are made by one of the members of
this group. He owns a couple of clubs in Texas. His name is Alan. I
will email you his address & phone #. You can download the
order form from under files to the left on the home page where it
says files. I called him and ordered them and had them in less than
a week. Great person to deal with. Good Luck, it's a great
investment. The women think, I bought new machines. Kathy
Message 8429 - I second the bronze bushings! We've
installed them in one of our clubs totally, heavy traffic there
daily, and did most of the machines in our other club and they
still feel today like the day we installed them! (8 months now) I
have ladies that travel regularly that come back and say they can't
believe the difference in other clubs machines! (TOO lose!) You can
find more information on how to purchase them right here in the
files section of this group and the man you developed them is also
a member! Nancy L. Pawlik Berlin/Plymouth WI
Message 8480 - I have been using the Bushings from Alan
for more then a Year in our Sidney Club with over 700 members and
our machines are in better shape then the new Oblique we just got.
Brand new the Oblique was like a chicken with a broken wing. Before
we but it in service into the Club we installed the bronze
bushings. If you want great equipment and to decrease your
maintenance schedule call Alan and order the Bushing kit for your
Club. I can not thank Alan enough for all his hard work and support
and then sharing it all with us. Thanks Alan.- Don Marshall -

Message - direct email - I've just placed an order for
the oblique machine (after reaching my 200 membership mark). I just
read one of your posts, and it said something about your bushings
for the oblique are 40% larger. I definitely want your bushings in
my new oblique machine...I still have 4 in the first set of
bushings you sent me...can I use these on the obliuqe, or do I need
to order special ones for the oblique?
BTW, guests who visit my club from other Curves, consistently
tell me, "Gee your machines are tighter than what I'm used to...but
I feel like I got the BEST Curves workout at you club I've ever
had..."
This weekend, I worked out at a Curves in another town. The
machines were so loose and wobbly, it sure made me appreciate my
machines. My members have had a GREAT first month and had high
"inch" losses..I think mainly due to my "tight" machines. Let me
know about the bushings for the oblique. Thanks a bunch, Jeanne

Message 8509 - Alan Smith, he's a member of this group.
But here is some contact information. Just a little more "glowing
review" on the bushings. I had to go do MORE updating on Go Figure
in my club that is an hour away yesterday, so I decided to work out
while I was there. We installed the bushings almost 9 months ago
now and I was SO impressed at how "tight" the machines are there.
Most impressive is the Oblique there is no, nada, not a bit of
"flop" in the handle. People ask me all the time if the bushings
were worth it? EVERY PENNY! Nancy L. Pawlik Berlin/Plymouth WI
Message 8562 - On November 9th, the day before my grand
opening in Madisonville, TX, my husband and I replaced all the
bushings in my machines with the brass bushings. The machines are
still "tight" and have no play in them at all. They feel secure and
strong. I have worked out at only a few other Curves, and have been
amazed at how loose some of their machines feel. When I've had
visitors work out at my club, after their first round on the
circuit, they always comment on how tight my equipment feels. After
they complete their workout, without exception, each one has told
me they got the best workout they've ever had....on my machines.
I'm with you Nancy, the brass bushings are great, and worth every
penney! And, I learned about them....right here from other club
owners. What a great resource. Jeanne Boucher Curves at
Madisonville, TX
Message 8598 - We use the "BRONZE" there really is no
comparison, amazing results ( the ladies thought we bought all new
machines). Aubrey & Helen McNally Curves Belleville, MI.
Message 8737 - My husband and I installed the bronze
bushings in my machines prior to my grand opening. This past week,
I received the oblique machine, and have it hidden away in the back
room. We will install the bronze bushings in it this weekend, and
have an "unveiling" at our superbowl workout party on Sunday, Feb.
1st. Just for me...I'd prefer they have the bronze
bushings before my members use the machines, but I doubt that using
the machines with the plastic bushings , when the machines are new,
would feel much different for the first 3 months. If you have the
time to install them now...I'd say, do it! Jeanne Boucher Curves at
Madisonville, TX
Message 8695 - I have been hearing so many wonderful
things about the bronze bushings so I ordered my first set last
week from Alan. The man who services my machines is putting them on
all 13 pieces of equipment on Sat., Feb. 14. This is our >
oldest club (3 years) and our largest so we are very excited to try
them out. If they work then we will install them at our other 2
clubs. Here is my question...we are opening our 4th club on Feb.
23. Do you think that we should retrofit these new machines with
bronze bushings BEFORE we open or wait until later? Thanks for your
feedback. Hilary in Pa.
Response: Msg #8699 - We did it both ways, in Sidney we
waited and we ordered new plastic ones from Curves and wore them
out and then turned to the Bronze bushings ..slow learners. In Oak
Bay we opened with the Bronze bushings installed. Thank you Alan.
Don Marshall Sidney & Oak Bay by the SEA!
Response: Msg #8698 - Personally, if I had it to
do all over again I'd start out with them on all my machines. Nancy
